- A variety of tours of Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, hinterland, whale watching, etc. can be booked through the hotels.
- There are also two tours which are affiliated with the conference - they are described below. Tour 1 is the Brisbane city and Mt Coo-tha lookout tour and Tour 2 is the tour to the Gold Coast hinterland (Tambourine Mountains) and it includes a walk trough a beautiful tropical rainforest.
- The conference participants can also explore Brisbane and its vicinity on their own using buses, trains, ferries or cars. For example it is easy to get to the Koala Lone Pine Sanctuary by bus or ferry (see Lone Pine tourist info).
- Brisbane has a subtropical climate with hot summers and cool, sunny winters. Please note that July is usually the coldest month in Brisbane as July is in the middle of (mild and pleasant) winter. The max average temperature for July is 20 C (day) and the min average temperature is: 9 C (night) . The highest recorded temperature for July is 28C (day) and the lowest is 2C (night).
Tour 1:
Brisbane City & Mt Coo-tha (HALF DAY TOUR)
Pre-Conference tour date: 06/07/09 (minimum of 10 people for the tour to proceed)
Post-Conference tour date: 10/07/09 (minimum of 10 people for the tour to proceed)
Price $70 per adult or $50 per child (up to 11 yrs old) based on minimum of 10 passengers (includes transfers & Devonshire tea). Travel to in a luxury coach for a city sights tour including Anzac Square from the coach, followed by free time at the Fortitude Valley and China Town). Visit Mt Coo-tha for panorama of Brisbane City and Moreton Bay and enjoy a leisurely morning tea here at the Summit Restaurant before returning to your accommodation.

Tour 2:
Mt Tamborine, Wineries, Gallery Walk (FULL DAY TOUR)
Pre-Conference tour date: 06/07/09 (minimum of 10 people for the tour to proceed)
Post-Conference tour date: 10/07/09 (minimum of 10 people for the tour to proceed)
Price $150 per adult or $110 per child (up to 11 yrs old) based on minimum of 10 passengers (includes transfers, wine tasting, shopping at wineries, art, crafts, antique shops & pottery followed by lunch). Set in a tranquil mountaintop rainforest environment, Mt Tamborine is an eclectic mix of National Parks, boutique wineries, bed & breakfast's, antique shops and art and craft galleries. In the morning you will enjoy a leisurely bushwalk in the subtropical rainforest of the Joalah National Park, followed by wine tasting and lunch at a local winery with spectacular views of the Surfers Paradise skyline. After lunch you will enjoy shopping on Gallery Walk, aptly named for its antique shops and art and craft galleries, and a visit to more wineries before returning to your accommodation.

10:15 Arrive Mt Tamborine for short rainforest walk to Joalah National Park and Cedar Creek falls

13:30 Free time at "Gallery Walk" antique, arts, crafts and galleries / or visit another winery
15:00 Depart Mt Tamborine
16:30 Return to Brisbane
BOOKING CONFIRMATIONS:
All tour bookings must be made and guaranteed by the 15th June 2009 by completing the PRE and/or POST CONFERENCE TOUR BOOKING FORM (PDF) and returned to the conference secretariat's office along with your payment. Requests made after this date will be subject to availability. Pre-Conference Tour Cancellations will incur a non-refundable administration fee of AUD $30 per adult and AUD$15 per child. Post-Conference Tour Cancellations will incur a non-refundable administration fee of AUD $50 per adult and AUD$30 per child. No show of a confirmed booking will be non-refunded. Should the numbers fall below the minimum of (10) passengers the tour will be unable to proceed and a full refund will be provided to you.
